The 3rd-6th grade spelling bee that was originally scheduled for Tuesday December 16th will be rescheduled for a date after Christmas break. We will send out the new date and time as soon as it is finalized. Thank you!
Friday's basketball games against Marianna have a slight change. There will be only 3 games: Senior Boys will play first, starting at 5p. Followed by the Senior Girls, then the Junior Girls. The games will still be played at Marianna.
Weather Update: We are monitoring road conditions throughout the night. The safety of our students and staff is a top priority. If we need to adjust the start time tomorrow, we will notify everyone through text message, social media, and local news stations.

The state’s annual accountability report looks at several areas, including academic achievement and growth, postsecondary readiness through Merit and Distinction diplomas, and graduation rates.
We’re incredibly proud of the progress our students continue to make and remain committed to providing engaging, high-quality learning experiences for every child. While this rating celebrates many of our successes, it also encourages us to keep growing and striving for even greater achievements.

The Sigma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma is excited to award its first Brenda Williams Memorial Classroom Teacher Grant to Lindsay Clay, the new MES counselor. The $250 grant was developed for classroom teachers who are in need of support for materials or projects in their classroom or school. Lindsay is planning to use the funds to purchase items needed for a sensory room. This is one way that Sigma Chapter supports the teachers from the towns of Augusta, McCrory, Des Arc, and Hazen. This grant was developed in memory of Brenda Williams, a member of Sigma Chapter and teacher of Des Arc schools. Carrie Bowling, President, along with Vonda Dozier, treasurer, are presenting Lindsay with her check. Congratulations Lindsay!!
MES will celebrate Red Ribbon Week October 27-October 31. Please remember to stay within dress code. Students are allowed to wear costumes to school Friday. However, please refrain from using face paint and help us keep our school kid-friendly.
