The ATLAS Writing Exam scheduled for tomorrow's 7th-10th grades has been rescheduled for Monday, March 11, 2024. Juniors and Seniors should report school as normal tomorrow.
MES grades 3-6 will test, as scheduled, on this Thursday March 7, 2024.

3rd-10th Grade Parents: Students will take the AR State Required ATLAS Writing Exam this Wednesday (MHS) and Thursday (MES).

Cheer tryout practice begins Sunday. Please see the schedule below. All paperwork including a current physical must be turned in at practice Sunday, March 3.

Schedule Change:
Lady Jaguar Softball will play at home today (3/1/24) against Cross County, starting at 5p.

MES will be hosting the Scholastic Bookfair March 11-15. The bookfair will officially open Monday, March 11 at 5:30. Parents are allowed to bring their child to shop the bookfair that night.

There is a mandatory parent meeting for anyone who signed up for cheer tryouts. Please be at the MHS Gymnasium at 5:30. At least one parent must attend in order for the candidate to try out. Please bring completed paperwork to this meeting. Tryout information and the 2024-2025 season will be discussed. Candidates must have signed up by the 16th.
Reminder that there is no school tomorrow! We will see everyone Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

There has been a change to the cheer tryout practice schedule to accommodate Junior high softball. The practice Sunday, March 3 is NOW mandatory. The practice March 7 is now optional but highly encouraged. We are sorry to make this change, but feel it is best to accommodate these ladies. There is a mandatory parent meeting Monday, February 19 at 5:30.

We would like to remind everyone that our student handbook states: "There will be no delivery of flowers, balloons, or gifts to the school for students from florists or other people."
Tomorrow is a make-up snow day. School will be in session until 1:30 (MES) and 1:45 (MHS). PTC will take place after school for both schools (2p - 6p)

Tonight's games against Marianna will start at 5p in Marianna.

Jr High basketball tournament is this week. All games will be played at Carlisle School District.

MES kids showed their kindness to each other, their teachers, and other is in the community this week! It was a fun week participating in the great kindness challenge.






The State Department of Education has provided schools flexibility with the 23-24 calendar to accommodate for the inclement weather days.
Our plan is as follows:
1. School WILL be in session on Parent/Teacher Conference day (2/12/24). MES will dismiss at 1:30 and MHS will dismiss at 1:45. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be from 2p-6p.
2. School WILL NOT be in session on President's Day. Enjoy the break!
3. School WILL be in session on Good Friday (3/29/24).
4. School WILL NOT be in session on Eclipse Day (4/8/24).
If we are impacted by more inclement weather, we will communicate our plan as needed. Please contact your building principals if you have any questions.
