Jr High basketball tournament is this week. All games will be played at Carlisle School District.

MES kids showed their kindness to each other, their teachers, and other is in the community this week! It was a fun week participating in the great kindness challenge.
The State Department of Education has provided schools flexibility with the 23-24 calendar to accommodate for the inclement weather days.
Our plan is as follows:
1. School WILL be in session on Parent/Teacher Conference day (2/12/24). MES will dismiss at 1:30 and MHS will dismiss at 1:45. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be from 2p-6p.
2. School WILL NOT be in session on President's Day. Enjoy the break!
3. School WILL be in session on Good Friday (3/29/24).
4. School WILL NOT be in session on Eclipse Day (4/8/24).
If we are impacted by more inclement weather, we will communicate our plan as needed. Please contact your building principals if you have any questions.

January is National Board Appreciation Month. We are grateful to the dedication our board has to our school, students, and staff. They give countless hours of their time to help guide our school every month. Please help us in showing our appreciation to our school board.
McCrory School District will open at normal times today! Buses are running like normal.
MHS cheer tryouts will be Saturday, March 9. Please see the schedule below. A parent of the tryout candidate must present at the mandatory cheer meeting on February 19 in order for the candidate to try out. Sign-ups begin February 5. Tryouts are open to anyone entering grades 7-12 in the fall of 2024 (currently in 6-11). Mascot tryouts will be the same day.
Administration will be monitoring the weather closely all night and will travel the roads beginning at 5am. If we receive any inclement weather, a decision to delay start time or cancel school will be made as soon as possible. Stay safe and hopefully we get to see everyone tomorrow.

8th & 10th Grade Parents: Mrs. Quattlebaum will be conducting Hearing, Vision, Scoliosis, and BMI screenings for all 8th Graders. She will be conducting BMI screenings for all 10th Graders. Just a reminder no school Monday, 1/15/24 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. If school has to be canceled due to the upcoming winter weather, we will let you know via Social Media (Facebook & Instagram), text message, school website, and the school app.
This Friday, the Jr. Girls, Sr. Girls, and Sr. Boys will play at home against Palestine Wheatley starting at 4:30. There will not be a 7th grade game.
